05/10/2024: Discontinuing Christmas Hams In Retaliation for Union Activity Is Illegal

This employer went on an unfair labor practice spree.

The number of allegations was so immense that the administrative law judge (“ALJ”) in this case unusually summarized his findings in a table, which I reproduce below.

There is nothing particularly novel in this case. But it is amusing that the employer violated Section 8(a)(3) of the Act by, in retaliation for union activity, discontinuing the tradition of providing holiday hams, turkeys, and rib roasts to its employees.
