03/29/2024: Union Election Minutiae.
Not every day can be interesting I suppose.
Anthony's Foods, 14-RC-336741 (Regional Election Decision). The Regional Director directed an election for a unit of workers at a grocery store in Oklahoma. The decision does not appear to indicate any particular legal disputes about the appropriateness of the unit. The employer has just refused to recognize the union and so the Regional Director is directing an election to determine whether the union has majority support.
Blue Line Foodservice Distribution, 32-RC-323289 (Unpublished Board Decision). The Teamsters won a union election at Blue Line. Blue Line raised objections to certifying the results, including that some workers had been coerced into voting for the union. The Regional Director dismissed the objections. Blue Line requested a review of that decision and the Board denied the request.
